15-Year-Old Bullied Teen Gets Touching Surprise At New School

This inspirational short story will warm your heart. Azzy Robinson, a 15-year-old bullied teen, gets a touching surprise from his new classmates when he transfers schools.

A few years ago, back at his old school, Azzy was a victim of bullying. It affected him in every way, and his mother said that he soon became very reclusive and would sleep all the time.

Once he transferred to Lavergne High School in Tennessee, the way he was treated by his peers completely changed.

The students at his new high school made him feel seen and loved. Bullying was not part of their culture and they wanted Azzy to know that. To make him feel special, Azzy’s classmates gave him a few gifts. How sweet is that!

Azzy received a new pair of Nike sneakers and some new clothes from his classmates. They all chipped in their own money to get the gifts for Azzy, and when he opened them, happy tears started to fall.

“Those tears were pure joy,” Azzy explains. “Almost proud to be me, for once. Because they wanted to do something for me, like that.”

What an inspiration those students are! They were able to help heal the wounds that Azzy had from the bullying in his past and make him feel encouraged and loved. This is something that we should all strive for. We should all be on the lookout for those that are going through hardships or feeling forgotten and find ways to love them.

Like it says in Galatians 6:2, we are called to look out for each other. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

And like Azzy’s classmates did, let’s focus on what 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says to do as we interact with those in our lives.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
