4-Year-Old Mariachi Singer Delights The Crowd On Little Big Shots

Published In Music

During this performance on Little Big Shots, a 4-year-old Mariachi singer delights the crowd and brings the host, Melissa McCarthy, to her feet.

Little Big Shots is a show created by Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa McCarthy, and Ben Falcone that celebrates a new generation of remarkable young people. In this season, Melissa meets with some of the most inspiring, talented, and hilarious little kids from all over the world. The kids share their remarkable stories on the show and show off their unique talents for the audience. According to their YouTube page, the show is “a celebration of how resilient, funny, and inspiring kids can be when we allow them to be unabashedly themselves. They may be little, but their hearts are big.”

In this performance on the show, a little Mariachi singer stunned the crowd with his talent. At just 4 years old, he has such great control of his voice, and he can hold those high notes for so long! He is also wonderful at engaging with the audience and performing with a great amount of energy.

The roots of the upbeat Mariachi music that the young boy was singing go back hundreds of years. Mariachi is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century, evolving over time in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. It is music that celebrates the joys, the struggles, and the triumphs of the Mexican people. Mariachi groups usually consist of as many as eight violins, two trumpets, and at least one guitar.

The little boy singing was also decked out in a traditional Mexican outfit, known as a charro outfit. Those outfits consist of decorated pants, short jackets, silk ties, and are often worn with a wide-brimmed sombrero.

What a fun performance this talented little boy put on, and it was great seeing him share a bit of what he loves about his heritage with the audience!
