41-Year-Old Pastor Todd Tilghman Turns All 4 Chairs With 'We've Got Tonight'
41-year-old pastor Todd Tilghman earned a 4-chair turn on The Voice with his incredible rendition of ‘We’ve Got The Night.’
Even though Todd’s wife was a nervous wreck, he barely got through the first sentence before three of the coaches had turned around. His distinctive tone eventually won over coach John Legend for the very first 4-chair turn of the season.
As Todd belted out the iconic words of ‘We’ve Got The Night’ from Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, you could see the excitement spread across his face.
“Look at the stars so far away
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?”
As if his performance wasn’t impressive enough, Todd revealed that he is actually a pastor with eight kids at home. This new revelation caught the attention of all the coaches and they started to battle over this worthy contestant.
The newest coach, Nick Jonas shared his similar musical history with Todd. "I'm actually a pastor's kid. My most fond memories were with my dad at the piano singing praise and worship songs. Do you know Phillips, Craig and Dean?"
That’s when they started to go back and forth with some iconic worship lyrics that really set the crowd on fire. Each coach had a compelling argument, but ultimately Todd decided to join Team Blake.
There’s no doubt that this man has a God-given talent for performing. I have a feeling he is going to go far in the competition.
