Hannah Ellis, a former contestant on The Voice performs a stunning acoustic rendition of ‘Mary Did You Know.’

This classic Christmas song is a favorite by many for it’s powerful lyrics and imagery. The words remind us all of the impact of the birth of our Savior.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’

While many of us know and love these words, it took songwriter Mark Lowry over 7 years for Mark Lowry to perfect the song. The idea came to Mark while he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell. He started to think about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him. He wondered how she must have felt when the angel told her she would birth a child of God.

That’s when he put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics to ‘Mary Did You Know.’ Today, we’re in a for an incredible treat as Hannah Ellis belts out these iconic words.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am’

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
