ALL AROUND THE FIELDS OF PALESTINE

Published In Other

The new Christian Ballad written by Evangelist Daniele Luciano Moskal and beautifully sung by JIMMY GRAZIANO was inspired by the popular and beautiful Irish ballad sung by millions of people around the globe - "The Fields of Athenry" by the Dubliners. The original Irish folk ballad was set and during the Great Irish Famine (1845--1850) about a fictional man named Michael from near Athenry in County Galway who has been sentenced to transportation to Botany Bay, Australia, for stealing food for his starving family. It is a widely known and popular anthem for Irish sports supporters all around the world.

The song was adopted by Republic of Ireland national football team supporters during the 1990 World Cup and subsequently by Celtic supporters in the early 1990's. The song is also associated with the Connacht, Munster, London Irish and Ireland rugby union teams.[12] It's also seen by many as Galway's county song, sung at the various GAA matches when the county is playing.

"The Fields of Anfield Road" was also adopted by Liverpool supporters to the same tune, but with adapted lyrics referencing their history and stadium.

I pray that all Christians and non-Christians will enjoy listening to our adapted song lyrics to this most beautiful ballad. Thank-you to 'The Dubliners' and Paddy Reilly for your inspiration - I've been wanting to do my version for many years - I pray and hope we have done a very good version, AMEN!!!
