CBN Presents 'I Am Patrick' Official Movie Trailer

The Christian Broadcasting Network brings us the official trailer for ‘I Am Patrick.’

This riveting film tells of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It was the 5th century and the Roman Empire was collapsing. Young Patrick was living a comfortable life in Britain.

Even though he grew up in the Roman Catholic Church, God wouldn’t be a central part of his life until years later.

At the age of 16, Patrick was kidnapped by pirates and taken to Ireland. “For 6 years Patrick was forced to work as a shepherd and was driven to the brink of starvation. It was there that he turned to his Christian faith and through divine intervention managed to escape. He was reunited with his family in Britain only to have a prophetic dream calling him to take Christianity back to the land of his captivity. Against the wishes of his family and the Church, Patrick returned as a missionary bishop to Ireland and converted thousands to Christianity.”

The film stars John Rhys-Davies as the title character of older Patrick. John rose to fame as Gimli the dwarf in the popular Lord Of The Rings film trilogy. Seán T. Ó Meallaigh, Robert McCormack, Ailbhe Cowley and more round out this talented cast.

Featuring a combination of re-enactment, interviews and experts from Patrick’s own writings, this film takes a closer look at the legendary figure. Presented by CBN films, ‘I Am Patrick: The Patron Saint Of Ireland’ will hit select theaters on March 17th and 18th.
