Time and again the Bible speaks of a cup of wrath which will be poured out against sinners. It is a cup filled to the brim with the perfect wrath of a perfectly just God. The cup of wrath was ours to drink, but in an unimaginable act of compassion, God chose to intervene and take our wrath upon Himself.
