Critically acclaimed actor Gary Sinise was brought to tears by a special video highlighting his work for veterans. You may recognize Gary from his role as tough guy detective Mac Taylor on CSI or the infamous Lieutenant Dan in the film Forrest Gump. Over the years, he’s been a constant on television and in films. But it is his role behind the scenes that have been the true inspiration.

For decades, Gary has dedicated himself to helping war veterans, first responders and their families. He expressed his gratitude in a speech saying, “You volunteered to serve your country knowing full well the risks and you paid that price for my freedom.” The actor went on to set up the Gary Sinise Foundation which creates programs to help these individual and provides them with essentials such as homes, financial assistance and equipment for wounded men or women. So many veterans and first responders have been blessed by this organization and everything that it stands for.

Today, some of these individuals and fellow celebrities are thanking Gary for his endless hard work and dedication. As one heartfelt message plays after another, Gary is moved to tears. The video showcases firefighters, veterans, friends, families and many other loved ones as they explain just how much this organization has accomplished.
