High School Students Reenact Entire Movie in Dance Routine In Epic Homecoming Halftime

Published In Music

Dancers from the PAC Dance Team and Advanced Dance at Walden Grove High School have outdone themselves in this epic Homecoming Halftime routine. The group performed a thrilling six-minute Harry Potter themed routine and wowed their fellow students. The dance was posted on social media and has since gone viral!

The use of mobile set pieces helps to recreate the entire Harry Potter story from the time he’s accepted into Hogwarts through a duel with villain, Voldemort. The opening scene has Harry taking the stairs to his new school which is then stunningly swirled around like a whirlwind ride by other cast members. Entering from the corner of the gym floor is a creative “Hogwarts Express” train full of excited students. Hysterically, Harry tries on the hat which will tell which “house” he will join. As Gryffindor is called out the music changes and the team breaks into a choreographed dance.

Next up is Harry’s flying lessons. Each member of the dance team has stealthily grabbed a broomstick for the scene. Breaking into another tight dance number, the team shows their skills as a group as they “fly” through the center of the court. It’s clear that they have truly worked long hours to accomplish these synchronized moves!

As the villains enter through smoke, the students are wowed by entrance. It’s not long before the good vs evil begin a dance battle. It appears the villains have won this battle, but just when it seems hope is lost, Harry jumps up and defeats ultimate bad guy, Voldemort!

These kids are incredibly talented dancers and their creativity is such a pleasure to watch! Even if you are not a fan of the Harry Potter series, seeing them perform this good vs evil battle in such a unique way is true enjoyment!
