High School Wrestler Steps In To Sing The National Anthem
17-year-old Isaac Bryant stunned the crowd at a high school wrestling meet when he performed The National Anthem.
“O! say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
Right before the wrestling district championships in Ohio, the organizers realized that there was no one to sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ They decided to ask around and see if anyone was willing to step up.
That’s when high school wrestler Isaac Bryant volunteered. This young man has been singing for years and is even part of the school choir. But when he started to belt out the patriotic lyrics, the whole crowd was in awe.
After the performance was posted online, it quickly became a viral sensation. Everyone was talking about this teen wrestler and his incredible voice. People just couldn’t believe that this beautiful sound could come out of such a ‘tough’ guy.
Isaac was grateful for the opportunity to show his pride for the United States through song. And the performance was such a hit that he’s even been asked to sing in Washington, D.C. What an incredible moment all captured on camera.
