Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter James Taylor leads the Top 20 artists on The Voice with a powerful rendition of ‘Shower The People.’

James Taylor is one of the most recognized names in music and one of the top selling artists of all time. His list of number one hits include ‘How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)’ and ‘Handy Man.’

‘Shower The People’ was another hit song by the legendary artist and the message rings even more true today.

“Just shower the people you love with
Love, show them the way that you feel.
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will do as I say, just
Shower the people you love with love, show them the way you feel.
Things are gonna be much better if you only will.”

As COVID-19 has forced many people to stay at home, most major entertainment productions were shut down. The Voice was just about to start their live shows when the virus sheltered America. But instead of stopping the show, they decided to completely transform the format and have each contestant perform from home. And this special performance features James Taylor leading the Top 20 in a touching rendition of ‘Shower The People.’

“They say in every life,
They say the rain must fall, just like pouring rain, make it rain.
Make it rain, love, love, love is sunshine, oh yes,
Make it rain, love, love, love is sunshine. Everybody, everybody.”

As images of front line workers, healthcare professionals and others flash across the screen, we are reminded of the sacrifices that so many are making right now. Let these words inspire you to spread kindness and love wherever you go.
