Josh Turner Sings 'Folsom Prison Blues' From Home

Published In Music

Country singer Josh Turner keeps us entertained during quarantine with his rendition of ‘Folsom Prison Blues.’

The classic song was written and recorded by legendary artist Johnny Cash. The song climbed to number one on country charts and became a signature track for Johnny. Years later, he even recorded a live rendition at Folsom Prison that earned him a Grammy Award.

“I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine
Since, I don't know when”

Today, talented country artist Josh Turner is putting his own spin on the track and it will have you toe-tapping along in no time. As we face uncertain times, Josh decided to put some joy into the world through music. Over the past few weeks, he’s been covering some of the most famous country songs from his home.

“I'm stuck in Folsom Prison
And time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a-rollin'
On down to San Antone”

Josh has always been open about the importance of faith in his life, especially in times like this. Two of his previous songs, “Me and God” and “Long Black Train” touched on the subject of God.

In 2018, Josh shared his faith on an even bigger scale with his first full-length gospel album. It is such a blessing to hear him use his musical talents to help others find peace and comfort during these times of stress and anxiety. And hearing his take on these classic songs is just the dose of nostalgia I needed to hear today.
