Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx star in the inspiring drama ‘Just Mercy.’

Based on a true story, the movie film the story of lawyer Bryan Stevenson and his quest to fight injustice. After graduating from Harvard, Bryan went to Alabama to fight for wrongly condemned prisoners.

One of his first cases ends up being the biggest when he meets Walter McMillian, a man sentenced to death row for the murder of an 18-year-old woman. Despite multiple witnesses giving Walter an alibi and no evidence, other than an unreliable testimony, proving his guilt, Walter is sentenced to death.

With his faith in Bryan, Walter is put through a lengthy legal battle and many hardships. But the history making case is a powerful story and beautifully displayed on the big screen.

Bryan’s inspiring journey was first recorded in his best-selling memoir, ‘Just Mercy: A Story Of Justice And Redemption.’ Now, it’s coming to life in an incredible new way with director Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm.

When speaking about his hopes for the movie, the award-winning filmmaker said, “To see people slowly open their hearts and take it in, even though it’s challenging at times, is incredibly gratifying and exciting, because if we can get people around the world to open their hearts to the pain of injustice and the trauma that inequality can create, we can motivate people to do more.”

Rob Morgan, Tim Blake Nelson and Academy award winner Brie Larson round out the star-studded cast. ‘Just Mercy’ is set to hit theaters on January 10, 2020.
