Lauren Daigle Shares The Story Behind 'You Say'
Grammy award-winning artist Lauren Daigle talks the meaning behind her hit single, ‘You Say.’ This powerful song has touched hearts all over the world with it’s inspiring and uplifting message.
“You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
Oh, I believe”
The song is a perfect reminder that in spite of what others might say, ultimately it’s God’s words that ring true over our lives. Today, Lauren is at the 2019 Grammy Awards and she’s discussing the popular tune. ‘You Say’ won the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and now Lauren is sharing the meaning behind the words. She goes on to mention that she went through some struggles a few years ago and needed to remind herself that God always loves her.
With the help of a producer, she wrote down the powerful words that she felt in her heart. With this song, Lauren hopes that others going through a similar situation can find hope in God. “I just want everybody to feel God’s love and His kindness in those kinds of moments.” During the award’s ceremony, Lauren also took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for ‘Look Up Child.’ 2019 is already looking to be a big year for this talented Christian artist.
