Let Freedom Ring' Live Performance From Gaither Vocal Band

Published In Music

In a historic event, over 20 members from Gaither Vocal Band, past and present, gave a live performance of ‘Let Freedom Ring’ on stage at the first-ever concert reunion.

The concert took place in Greenville, SC at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena during a two-day event of song and inspiration. Bill Gaither, Mark Lowry, Guy Penrod, Gary McSpadden, David Phelps, Russ Taff, Marshall Hall and more joined their voices together for a performance that will give you chills! You definitely can feel the great energy that they bring with the power behind their voices and the powerful lyrics that they sing.

“And even life begins because a baby fights for freedom
And songs we love to sing have freedom's theme
Some have walked through fire and flood to find a place of freedom
And some faced hell itself for freedom's dream

Let freedom ring wherever minds know what it means to be in chains
Let freedom ring wherever hearts know pain
Let freedom echo through the lonely streets where prisons have no key
We can be free and we can sing, let freedom ring”

Although the Gaither Vocal Band started out recording contemporary Christian music in the 1980s, the group soon became known for southern gospel music. And after seeing their rendition of ‘Let Freedom Ring,’ it is easy to see why!

The harmonies from the group during this live performance are amazing, and it is an incredible thing to listen to when all of their voices join as one. Seeing all the former members join together to sing ‘Let Freedom Ring’ is such a beautiful sight! And the warm smiles that you can see all over the different members’ faces during the performance shows the true joy that they experience when coming together and using their talents for the glory of God.
