Michael Bublé 'Help Me Make It Through The Night' (Behind The Scenes)
Michael Bublé had a dream to perform “Help Me Make It Through The Night” as a duet, but had to find just the right vocal partner. After hearing her sing as the voice of Jenny Lind in “The Greatest Showman”, Michael Bublé knew he found the right singing partner in Loren Allred.
“Take the ribbon from my hair / Shake it loose and let it fall / Lay it soft upon my skin / Like the shadows on the wall"
Originally a country ballad from the 1970s, “Help Me Make It Through The Night” lends itself perfectly to Bublé’s crooner charms. Knowing he wanted to sing the song, Bublé had to find the right vocal partner.
“My concept had always been so strong. And in my head, it was always a duet, I never heard it as a duet before but I had always seen it as this incredible sad, but beautiful story of two needy people who just did not have the strength to be alone any more.” Bublé shares about his vision for the song.
“I had been watching a movie called ‘The Greatest Showman’...and I realized the actress, it wasn’t her singing, so I frantically started to comb Youtube to find out who this was… and I found Loren Allred!”
If there is such a thing as a vocal crush, Bublé admits he has it (we do, too!) Loren’s voice is truly amazing and hearing her sing this beautiful ballad, there is no doubt that her voice was perfect for the part! Allred hails from Utah, the daughter of two talented vocalists. It’s clear that she inherited their skill. We can’t wait to hear more from her and hope that she and Bublé will continue to use their vocal gifts in duets together!
