MMA Fighter Shares Testimony Of Surrendering To God

Published In Other

A professional fighter is known for being aggressive and tough. They beat people up for a living, so surrendering is not a word that they use in their vocabulary very often. 27-year-old Cody Garbrandt knows all about resisting surrender.

Cody is a mixed martial arts fighter signed with the UFC. He comes from a long line of fighters on both sides of his family, so Cody’s days of throwing punches started very early on. One of his first competitors was his older brother. Zach. Their mom placed both of the boys in wrestling, so they were quick to practice their skills on each other. Even though some of their fights were serious, Cody always knew that Zach was the one place he could turn for support and friendship. This was especially true when Cody entered a dark period of his life and thought about committing suicide. Zach showed up and saved Cody’s life. That was a huge turning point in this young man’s life.

These brothers were bonded forever and they even started attending church service together. It only strengthened their relationship with God and with each other. That’s when Cody began to realize that God carries you through parts of your life and ‘there is a time and a place that you do need to surrender.’ Even though most fighters don’t like to use that word, Cody knows that surrendering to God is the best thing he ever did. What an incredible I Am Second testimony from this inspiring MMA fighter.
