Non-Christian Musician Reacts To 'Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)'
One non-Christian musician has a beautiful reaction when he hears the worship song ‘Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)’ for the first time.
“Hi! Welcome!” says the musician at the start of his YouTube video. “My name is Leonardo Torress. I’m a musician -- guitar player, singer, and music lover. I love all types of music anywhere from contemporary, pop, rock, metal.”
He lets his viewers know that he is not a member of any church or religious group, but he wanted to make a video showing his reaction to a type of music that he has recently grown to appreciate – Christian music.
“I’m not religious myself, but I do appreciate a lot of the way that the music is composed,” Leonardo says in regard to Christian music. “And also, the lyrics, some of the words are really nice. Very well formulated or almost poetic. Almost like a prayer.”
Leonardo then starts to play ‘Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),’ a song that he has never listened to before. As the music starts, he shares how beautiful the cellos sound in the opening.
“I’m a sucker for cellos,” he says.
Then he comments on the lyrics. “‘The great unknown, where feet may fail.’ I like that.”
He starts to get very excited as the music builds. “These words are amazing…every instrument has a very beautiful part. Wow.”
Leonardo seems to be very touched by the music and lyrics of the song. He can feel the energy of the Holy Spirit that is present in that place while they are praising together. “Oh, I love it!” he says. “It’s so powerful!”
“This song is such an amazing song,” comments someone on YouTube who viewed this video. “I'm a Christian and I know the holy spirit was touching you. Jesus loves you so so much man.”
“And that is what you call ‘worshipping the king Jesus without even knowing it.’ You were doing more than enjoying it! Your spirit was enjoying it,” writes another person on YouTube. “God bless you man. I pray that you will encounter God so strongly in these times.”
After the song finishes, Leonardo gives it 5 out of 5 stars. May God continue to use music to bless this man’s soul!
