Wife Of Olympian Warns Others After Daughter Drowns

Former Olympic alpine skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan were faced with a tragedy that no parent ever wants to endure. In June of 2018, their 19-month-old daughter Emeline drowned in their neighbor’s pool.

Emeline, or Emmy for short, was with Morgan at the neighbor’s house visiting. While the women were chatting, Emmy snuck out of the house and found her way to the backyard pool. When Morgan realized that Emmy was missing, she ran outside to find her daughter in the pool. Even though she has only been in the water for a few minutes, Emmy couldn’t be resuscitated.

Bode and Morgan were devastated at the loss of their sweet baby girl who brought so much joy into their lives. But now, they’ve vowing to make sure that this tragedy doesn’t happen to another parent as they are spreading awareness of the dangers of drowning. In an Instagram post, Morgan posted “I pray to God no other parent feels this pain. Drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1 to 4.” This tragedy can happen in an instant and Morgan even called death by drowning a silent killer.

I can’t imagine the pain and heartache that this family is currently experiencing but it’s such an inspiration to see them try to help others during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to the grieving Miller family and any other family that has gone through a tragedy like this. They will certainly be in our prayers.
