Wine Into Water' Acoustic Performance From T. Graham Brown

Published In Music

Country singer T. Graham Brown performs an acoustic rendition of his emotional song, ‘Wine Into Water.’ T. Graham was on top of the country charts in the 80s with three number one hits.

But as time went on, his star started to fade. He made his way through multiple record labels, but couldn’t seem to produce another hit.

It was during that time that T. Graham developed an addiction to alcohol. His struggles inspired him to write down his feelings to music. ‘Wine Into Water’ was written and it’s an ode to leaning on God in hard times.

“Tonight, I'm as low as any man can go
I'm down and I can't fall much farther
And once upon a time, You turned the water into wine
An' now, on my knees, I'm turning to You, Father
Could You help me turn the wine back into water?”

The release of ‘Wine Into Water’ resonated with so many people all over the world. Legendary singer Loretta Lynn even covered the song in 2016 after watching his husband battle alcoholism.

She told NPR, "That hits everybody who drinks. When you're an alcoholic, you're an alcoholic and there's nothing you can do about it except get help." The help we seek is found in the arms of the Lord.

“So many times I've hurt the ones I love
I pushed them to the edge of giving up
They've stood by me but how much can they stand
If I don't put this bottle in Your hands?”

T. Graham Brown hopes that his song continues to reach those in need and remind us all that our faith can see us through any obstacle.
