Published In Music

Legendary women of country music share the stage for an incredible medley of hits at the 2019 Country Music Association Awards.

This year, the awards show decided to honor the women that make up country music. Their impact on the industry has not gone unnoticed and it was time for a musical display of these amazing creators. That’s when an assembly of some of the most iconic name in country came together for one monumental performance.

Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Crystal Gayle, The Highwomen, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Nettles, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson all stepped on stage for a performance of a lifetime.

Just listen as these talented voices belt out hits such as “Those Memories Of You” and “Born To Fly.” There was even a special tribute to Loretta Lynn, who looked on from the front row as her hit “You’re Lookin’ at Country” played.

It’s such an incredible moment to watch the women of country past and present come together in solidarity. It is so important that women lift each other up instead of tearing one another down.

Throughout the evening, many women took away top honors such as Maren Morris winning Album of the Year for Girl and New Artist of the Year winner Ashley McBryde. Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild even remarked, “You’re looking at the future of country music right here” after the ensemble performance of ‘Girl Crush.’

What an amazing night of music and community for the entire country crowd!
