7-Year-Old Performs Viral Rendition Of 'The National Anthem'
7-year-old Madison Taylor Baez made waves across the Internet after her performance of ‘The National Anthem’ at a soccer game went viral.
In 1814, Francis Scott Key penned the iconic song after the events of The War Of 1812. British forces bombed Fort McHenry but the U.S. still proved victorious during the battle.
The next morning, Francis Scott Key spotted the American flag flying over the fort and he was hit with love and inspiration. What followed are the special words that we know and love today.
“O! say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is one of the hardest songs to perform. It features a number of high notes that make for difficult transitions but 7-year-old Madison performed it flawlessly.
In fact, she’s performed ‘The National Anthem’ so many times that she has been dubbed ‘The Anthem Girl.’ For such a young girl, she certainly has a big voice and she can belt out those tough lyrics. No wonder everyone is talking about this incredible talent.
