A Cappella 'God Only Knows' From Pentatonix
A cappella super group Pentatonix perform The Beach Boys classic ‘God Only Knows.’
This beloved song was originally released in 1966. Since that time, it’s been covered by countless artists and become a pop culture favorite.
Now, the talented voices of Pentatonix are putting their own spin on this iconic tune.
“I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you”
This talented group formed in 2011, but they shot to fame after winning the third season of the television show ‘The Sing Off.’ Since that moment, Pentatonix has become a household name with viral performances such as ‘Mary Did You Know’ and ‘Hallelujah.’
Now, they are getting in the Christmas spirit with this Beach Boys hit. The video features the band members in a busy airport during the holidays. As they all bid farewell, they belt out these words we all know and love.
“God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me”
When you perform a cappella, every sound that you hear comes from a human voice. There are no instruments or background music.
It takes many hours of arrangement and practice in order to perfect a performance like this, but Pentatonix nails it every single time. What a perfect way to kick off the Christmas season!
