A Cappella Choir Of Teens Perform 'Amazing Grace'
The talented teens of Academy Choir come together for a spirit-filled rendition of ‘Amazing Grace.’
This classic hymn was originally written by John Newton. John wrote the hymn as a way of giving thanks to the Lord for granting him new life. As a sailor, John was known for his crude language and actions. But one day, he found himself caught in the middle of a terrible storm.
After hours at the helm of the ship, his thoughts began to turn to God. After surviving the weather, John started his life as a Christian and dedicated himself to serving our Father.
Today, the Academy Choir is putting their own spin on this beloved tune with an a cappella performance of ‘Amazing Grace.’ Just listen as they all join together to belt out these iconic words.
“Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed”
Academy Choir was established in 2014 by former Pentatonix member Avi Kaplan and Robert Dietz and Ben Bram. It all started when Avi posted a tweet about his goal of one day opening an a cappella camp for children every summer. Robert and Ben saw the post and reached out to help Avi achieve his dream.
Now, hundreds of kids have been given the opportunity to pursue their passion for performing at this incredible academy. And when they are singing hymns like this, there is definitely a bright future for these children.
