Children's Church Choir Performs Disney Classic For Audition

Published In Music

This children’s church choir brought down the house with their incredible rendition of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ on Britain’s Got Talent.

When the Truro Cathedral Choir stepped onto the stage, you can hear a collective ‘awe’ from the audience. Ranging in age from eight to eighteen, these talented singers are hoping that their voices can propel them to the next level.

When Simon asked the choir director why they decided to come on BGT, he replied, “"The show has done so much for variety and bringing it back into the mainstream, we hope something really traditional can be part of that." The choir did an incredible job of combining a traditional choral sound with a modern song. ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ was featured in the 1994 Disney film ‘The Lion King.’ Elton John composed this Academy and Grammy winning song.

“And can you feel the love tonight? It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer that we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight? How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds believe the very best”

This Disney classic is a special song for many people around the world. It reminds them of a certain person, place or how they felt hearing it for the very first time. The beautiful words are the perfect compliment to the talented voices of this children’s choir. The group easily impressed the judges and earned 4 ‘yes’ votes to move on to the next round. What do you think they will perform next?
