Christian American Idol Stars Test Their Trivia Knowledge

Published In Music

Some Christian American Idol stars got together with some people at a radio station’s afternoon show to test their song trivia knowledge.

“This is an American Idol song battle,” says someone off screen at the beginning of the video. “The goal is to guess the artist or the song before your opponent. If you guess wrong, you’re frozen until they guess. The person with the most points wins!”

The contestants in the song trivia game include Mandisa, Danny Gokey, and Colton Dixon who all have previously been on the show American Idol.

Mandisa is a Grammy and Dove Award-nominated American singer and was the ninth-place finalist in the fifth season of American Idol back in 2006. Danny Gokey became an instant fan favorite on American Idol back in 2008 when he earned third place behind runner-up Adam Lambert. And Colton Dixon is an American Christian rock singer-songwriter from Murfreesboro, Tennessee who finished in 7th place on the eleventh season of American Idol.

As Mandisa, Danny Gokey, and Colton Dixon are listening to the songs that are being played for them to guess, it is clear that they know their music! All of the songs are from former contestants or judges that have been on American Idol, including some of their own songs. A few of the songs that they were quizzed on were ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ by Kelly Clarkson, ‘And I Am Telling You’ by Jennifer Hudson, ‘What Do You Want From Me’ by Adam Lambert, ‘Jesus Take The Wheel’ by Carrie Underwood, and ‘Straight Up’ by Paula Abdul.

“I love these videos!” writes one fan on YouTube. “So funny and love seeing some of my favorite Christian artists. Keep them coming!”

“So much fun to watch!” writes another person on YouTube. “Danny acting like he could do this all day, Mandisa doing the same, and Colton having that competitive side come out. So nice to watch!”

After watching this video, how well did you do with the American Idol song trivia?
