Country Star Craig Campbell Sings 'Outskirts Of Heaven' Acoustic
Country star Craig Campbell performs his hit song ‘Outskirts Of Heaven’ at the Country Rebel Headquarters.
Craig discovered his love of music at a very young age. He began playing piano at his mother’s church in a small town in Georgia.
Craig climbed the country charts with singles such as ‘Family Man’ and ‘Keep Them Kisses Coming.’ But one of his most popular songs has a spiritual message.
Craig was inspired to write ‘Outskirts Of Heaven’ after reading a passage in the Bible from Revelations. It described Heaven’s pearly gates and streets of gold.
Craig has always been a country guy, so he imagined Heaven a bit different. “I wrote it just because I feel like that’s what my Heaven is going to be. So, I gave the good Lord a road map: I said, ""Look, when I get to Heaven, this is what I want. Make sure you’ve got it ready when I get there."" But at the same time, it also says, ""It’ll be whatever you want it to be,"" and that’s what the song is all about.”
The lyrics of the song describe the type of Heaven that Craig looks forward to seeing.
“Lord when I die I wanna live
On the outskirts of Heaven
Where there's dirt roads for miles
Hay in the fields and fish in the river
Where there's dogwood trees and honey bees
And blue skies and green grass forever
Lord when I die, I wanna live on the outskirts of Heaven”
This acoustic performance is a great reminder that Heaven is going to be perfect for us all. One day, we will be reunited with our Father and what a glorious day that will truly be.
