Dad Interviews Daughter's First Day Of School For 13 Years
It all started with a simple interview of his daughter after her first day of kindergarten. Now, a sweet father who interviewed his daughter about her first day of school for 13 years has a video compilation that shows her growing up right before his eyes.
“Did you like kindergarten?” This was the first question in the video that Kevin Scruggs from Silverdale, Washington asked his daughter Madison. “Uh huh,” she replied. Her dad asks her if she wants to go back. With a big smile on her face, Madison responds with “Every day.”
The video continues with Madison sharing stories about her first day of school throughout the years. From sharing what she likes about her teachers, what she did for lunch, or what her favorite part of the day is, it is clear that she has a close relationship with her father and likes to share with him. And it’s a wonderful thing to see that Kevin is so interested and invested in his kids’ lives!
This family tradition of yearly interviews on the first day of school is inspiring. What a great way to look back and see how your child has grown! Kevin also made a similar video for his eldest daughter, 20-year-old Mackenzie.
"I thought it would be cool when they graduate for them to see their whole career in one short clip," Kevin explains. "I wanted to have something to remember."
His daughter Madison graduated from Central Kitsap High School and plans to study business management at Grand Canyon University in the fall. She says that she enjoyed doing the interviews with her dad and seeing herself grow up in the video.
"It was cool to see my personality change,” says Madison. "I'm really appreciative of how much time my dad put into it, how much he loves us and how much he and my mom do for us."
What a wonderful relationship these two share, and may God continue to bless their family!
