Edelweiss' A Cappella Sound Of Music Cover From Chris Rupp
In this video, Chris Rupp, along with Marco Rießbeck, sing an a cappella cover of the song ‘Edelweiss’ from The Sound of Music.
“Edelweiss, edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever”
It is a beautiful song and this rendition of ‘Edelweiss’ was enjoyed by many people online. One YouTube user wrote: “This is wonderful! I'm so happy that you two got together to make this video, Marco and Chris. The song has always been one of my favorites, and here are two very special people singing it. What a joy! Thanks to you both!”
Another person on YouTube shared their thoughts about the video. “So simple, yet so brilliant at the same time,” they commented. “One of my favorites from the Sound of Music for sure.”
The beloved movie, The Sound of Music, came out in April 1965. After just four weeks in theaters, it became the number one box office movie and the highest-grossing film of 1965. By November 1966, The Sound of Music had become the highest-grossing film of all-time, even surpassing Gone with the Wind, and it held on to that distinction for five years.
Chris Rupp knew what he was doing when he covered this popular song with his friend, Marco. Both of their voices fit it so well, and it was lovely to listen to.
When Chris Rupp started his rise to fame, he was the founder and a member of the popular a cappella group Home Free. The group started out as contestants on the show The Sing Off and went on to win the whole competition. After his success with his a cappella group, Chris decided to embark on a solo career where he produced his own music.
It's great to see Chris Rupp continue to produce music that brings a smile to others’ faces!
