God Bless The USA' Lee Greenwood Cover From Anthem Lights
The men of Anthem Lights perform a patriotic rendition of ‘God Bless The USA.’ ‘God Bless The USA’ was originally released in 1984 by Lee Greenwood.
He always felt the urge to write a patriotic song and when the shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007 occurred, Lee knew the time was right to unite the nation. It rose on the country charts, but it wasn’t until the attacks on September 11th that the song became a cultural phenomenon.
‘And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.’
Today, the four men of Anthem Lights are putting their own spin on this iconic tune. Anthem Lights is comprised of members Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, Joey Stamper and Spencer Kane.
Together, they’ve became social media sensations with hymn medleys and covers such as ‘How Great Thou Art’ and ‘It Is Well.’ Through the years, they’ve racked up over 140 million video views online and that number is still growing.
Now, they’re belting out the lyrics to ‘God Bless The USA’ and it’s truly a performance you don’t want to miss. During these uncertain times, this song can serve as a reminder to come together and turn to God for guidance.
When we are united through faith and kindness, this will truly be a land like no other.
