Herd Of Cows Help Police Catch Fleeing Suspect
When it comes to police pursuits, you never know what is going to happen. A fleeing suspect can be very dangerous and when you’re trying to capture them on foot, it adds another layer of difficulty for the police department.
Well, the Sanford Police Department and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recently apprehended a subject in the most unusual way. Two people had stolen had crashed a stolen car while trying to evade the police. When one of the suspects bailed out of their car, they began to run through a pasture.
You can see in this video released on the sheriff’s office Facebook page that as the woman began to run, it caught the attention of a herd of cows. About 16 cows started to chase the woman as she ran through the pasture. This large group made it very easy for the pursuing police officer’s to find her location. But the cows weren’t done just yet. They herded the woman to a fence where police officers were waiting to apprehend her. The cows did not give up during the entire ordeal and, at one point, I even thought they might overtake her before the police arrived.
These deputies-in-training have been seen all over the Internet now and officers are thanking them for their help during the pursuit. I guess it’s safe to say that you never know what your day is going to be like when you are a police officer. What did you think of this unlikely takedown?
