Brenton Brown, one of the artists who helped write the worship song ‘Lion And The Lamb,’ performs the song in this video and shares how this popular worship hit came to be.

The writers behind ‘Lion And The Lamb’ are Leeland Mooring, Brenton Brown, and Brian Johnson. They all worked together to create a song that has been a blessing to the Church since it was released.

“The song was birthed in a really beautiful, spiritual moment that Leeland talks about,” Brenton shares. “A moment where the Lord’s presence was very close and evident in a meeting, and he was on his face before the Lord. And that’s where the song came from. He was just crying, and he was encountering God.”

Brenton talks about how easily the chorus of the song came to Leeland but needed some help when it came to writing the verses. That’s where Brenton comes in.

He had recently had a great discussion with a friend about worship in the nations when Leeland asked him for help with writing ‘Lion And The Lamb.’ These are just some of the beautiful lyrics that Brenton was able to contribute.

“He's coming on the clouds
kings and kingdoms will bow down
Every chain will break
as broken hearts declare His praise
Who can stop the Lord Almighty”

“Just thinking about the nations of the earth, of the world, of history, coming to worship God one day…it almost spilled out,” explains Brenton when talking about writing the first verse to the song.

This powerful worship song has since impacted churches all over the world, with people from so many nations singing out the truth in the lyrics.

“Our God is a Lion the Lion of Judah
He's roaring in power and fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is a Lamb the Lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Every knee will bow before Him”

“Sometimes, the Lord is just really kind and He gifts us with songs and melodies and a message for His people,” shares Brenton. What a blessing it is to praise our God with this beautiful song!
