Man Uses Billboard To Plea For A Kidney Donor

It’s never easy to watch a loved one with failing health. It’s even harder when you know there are people out there that can help, but you can’t reach them. That’s exactly the predicament that 53-year-old Marc Weiner and his family have found themselves in. Mark had both of his kidneys and his bladder removed because of cancer. And now, he’s in need of a kidney donor and he needs one fast.

Times Square is known for being a busy tourist destination full of people and life at all hours of the day. So many people from around the world visit this New York City staple and it’s where Marc is hoping that he finds the help he needs. A friend of the family is in the billboard business and when he heard about Marc’s situation he decided to do something to help. He donated space on a billboard in Times Square and now every 7 seven minutes, a plea for a kidney for Marc appears. Marc will have the billboard space for 3 months and that is worth an estimated $100.000.

Both Marc and his wife were overcome with gratefulness to this priceless family friend. Marc’s wife said, “They’re lifesavers. They are true angels and we said ‘What can we do to thank you?’ and all they said is ‘Nothing. Let’s just get him a kidney.’” We are definitely thinking about Marc and his family during this time and I pray that the billboard reaches someone who could be a match.
