The Voice Contestants Perform 'Silent Night'

Published In Other

‘Silent Night’ is a classic Christmas hymn that has truly stood the test of time. It was composed in 1818 and the words still ring out true today, proclaiming the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

‘Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace’

Today, two former contestants from the singing competition The Voice are coming together to perform this Christmas song. Brian Nhira and Malik Heard were both competitors on the tenth season of popular television show. Nhira recently put on a Christmas concert and Heard was one of his guests. Together, they performed a beautiful duet of this heavenly tune. I just love the way their voices blend together so perfectly to sing out the words of our Savior’s birth.

‘Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!’

What a blessing to listen to these two men sing of the good news. I always look forward to hearing this hymn at Christmas time. I can remember opening up the hymnal and singing with all my heart at Christmas service. Do you have a favorite hymn to sing this time of year?

Matthew 1:21 “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,because he will save his people from their sins.”
