Published In Music

The beautiful voices of Sounds Like Reign lead us in worship with ‘Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.’

This classic hymn is also known as ‘The Heavenly Vision.’ It is a hymn written by Helen Howarth Lemmel in 1918. It was inspired by a pamphlet entitled Focused, written by the missionary Isabella Lilias Trotter.

Now, decades later, this worship song has become a beloved classic that continues to touch hearts all around the world.

“O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!”

Lindsay and Brackin Kirkland are an incredibly talented musical duo known as Sounds Like Reign. Together, they love to sing praise to the Lord through their unique arrangements and classic hymns.

Today, they are lending their voices to the iconic words of ‘Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus’ and it’s absolutely awe-inspiring. Just listen as they sing in perfect harmony these words of love and praise.

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.”

Even when life may be uncertain, it is so important to remember that God is the answer to everything.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
