Violin Cover Of 'Hallelujah' From Tyler Butler-Figueroa
America’s Got Talent alumni Tyler Butler-Figueroa performs a brilliant violin cover of ‘Hallelujah.’
We first met this talented young man when he auditioned for the fourteenth season of America’s Got Talent. I think the whole world’s heart melted when they heard his touching backstory and watched his incredible performance.
Tyler started to play the violin at the age 7, after he nearly lost his life to cancer. His treatments caused him to lose his hair and he immediately became a target for bullies. But music, and the violin, gave Tyler an outlet and he started to gain confidence and come out of his shell. His performance of ‘Stronger’ from Kelly Clarkson led judge Simon Cowell to press the golden buzzer.
Tyler made it all to the finals with his impressive violin performances getting better and better each week. Now, he’s sharing a special performance that is sure to be another hit. Leonard Cohen’s rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ is one of the most popular songs of all time.
The powerful song was originally released in 1984, but it wasn’t until Jeff Buckley recorded his own version in 1994 that the song really started to gain momentum.
Now, Tyler is performing his own instrumental version of the modern day classic and it is simply stunning. The violin truly gives this song an entirely new feel and you can definitely see how talented this young artist really is.
Time after time, Tyler reminds us all why he earned that initial golden buzzer on AGT. Don’t you agree?
