Voctave Choir Sings Joy to the World (with For Unto Us A Child Is Born)

Get into the Christmas spirit with singing group, Voctave! We are loving their beautiful acapella rendition of “Joy to The World” with “For Unto Us a Child Is Born.” Known for their tight harmonies and vocal mastery without instruments, these guys and gals bring on the joy!

This 11-member acapella group hails from central Florida and has been singing together since 2015. The members come from a diverse background musically and all have been recorded on countless albums. Most are also no stranger to “The Mouse”, having worked or still working for Walt Disney World Entertainment. Voctave says from their website: “From gospel music to musical theater, contemporary Christian to barbershop, pop music to choral specialists, Voctave voices have covered it all both in and out of the a cappella realm.”

Their version of Joy to The World is a stunning example of how the right blend of voices can add new life to traditional tunes. Not often heard together, the two songs were blended very well with an almost seamless section for the transition. Highlights include an uplifting solo or two by the sopranos, and the group’s use of vocally rhythmic sections. Hearing is believing what these talented singers can do with just their voices! It is still very astounding the way the bass vocals can sound so crisp and exact that it almost sounds like a synthesized bass note from a keyboard!
