13-Year-Old Charlotte Summers Performs 60s Classic 'You Don't Own Me'
13-year-old Charlotte Summers returns to the America’s Got Talent stage with a rousing performance of ‘You Don’t Own Me.’
We first met this teen talent when she auditioned with the classic song ‘I Put A Spell On You.’ That’s when we learned that this Spanish singer has been performing since she was just five years old. And she’s living out one of her biggest dreams by stepping onto the AGT stage. After a standing ovation, Charlotte easily moved on to the next round.
Now, she’s performance another classic hit with Lesley Gore’s rendition of ‘You Don’t Own Me.’
"And don't tell me what to do
Don't tell me what to say
And please, when I go out with you
Don't put me on display”
This song was originally recorded by Lesley in 1963. She was just 17 years old at the time. This 60s song was even inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Now, young Charlotte is putting her own spin on the song and it’s absolutely incredible.
“You don't own me
Don't try to change me in any way
You don't own me
Don't tie me down 'cause I'd never stay”
After the performance, judge Simon Cowell said, “We asked all these earlier acts why they’re so nervous. Now I understand because they’ve heard you.” One after another, each judge gave Charlotte a raving review.
We’ve definitely got a serious contender on our hands. Do you think that Charlotte has what it takes to become the America’s Got Talent champion?
