Bluegrass Singer Alison Krauss Performs 'Amazing Grace'

Published In Music

Bluegrass and country singer Alison Krauss sings the beloved words of ‘Amazing Grace.’

This classic song may be the most popular hymn of all time. Throughout the years, it has touched so many hearts and provided love and comfort in times of need.

“Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed”

This iconic hymn was written by John Newton. It served as a measure of thanks to the Lord for giving him new life. As a sailor, John was known for his crude language and actions. But one day, he found himself caught in a terrible storm.

After hours at the helm of the ship, his thoughts turned to God. After surviving the weather, John started his life as a Christian and dedicated himself to serving our Father.

Today, Alison Krauss is belting out the lyrics of ‘Amazing Grace’ during at live performance at the 2019 National Memorial Day Concert. This Grammy award-winning performer is the perfect voice to complement these powerful words of praise.

She starts off the song with just the sound of her violin. Then, she adds in her stunning vocals to give this hymn a hauntingly beautiful sound.

There’s nothing like the combination of country and gospel music. Who else can feel the Lord right now?
