Published In Other

The very first Britain's Got Talent winner, Paul Potts, returns to the Got Talent stage for another rousing opera performance.

Paul rose to fame after his incredible audition for Britain’s Got Talent. During the first season, this talented opera singer belted out the lyrics to Giacomo Puccini's "Nessun dorma." The audience and judges went crazy.

In fact, the video of his performance has been viewed over 177 million times online. Paul went on to win the entire season and making himself a household name. Now, this singing sensation is back as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

This 6-week format features 45 contestants that have previously appeared on BGT or other Got Talent shows. The list of competitors includes winners, finalists and some all-time fan favorites.

Recently, Paul competed the American rendition of the show, but now he’s back on the stage that started it all. And as he belts out the lyrics to Nino Rota’s ‘Parla più piano,’ we’re reminded why Paul won the show the first time.

Paul’s incredible performance earned a standing ovation from all four judges and the crowd was full of cheer. The talented opera singer expressed his thoughts on Twitter saying, “Thank you to everyone for your wishes. I hope you enjoyed my performance of the Godfather/Parla Piu piano. I appreciate the start that @BGT gave me and so I was happy to return to the show and will be happy to do so again.”

There’s no doubt that Paul is a class act.
