Popular tenor Josh Groban performs an amazing duet rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ with Lucia Micarelli while in quarantine.

Leonard Cohen’s rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ is one of the most popular songs of all time. The powerful song was originally released in 1984, but it wasn’t until Jeff Buckley released the song on his 1994 album, ‘Grace’ that the song really started to gain momentum.

Since that time, it’s become a worldwide phenomenon and cementing itself in music history. Over the years, many artists have covered this powerful song, which sounds like a perfect blend of a rock ballad and a gospel song. Some notable covers include Bon Jovi, Pentatonix and Susan Boyle.

As the Coronavirus has forced many people all around the globe to stay in their homes, it has caused many feelings of fear and uncertainty. World-renowned singer Josh Groban hopes to add some joy into people’s day with his newest endeavor called Shower Songs.

Twice a week, he sings a popular song in his shower and helps to raise funds for our front line personnel battling the virus.

Today, Josh is performing one of the most requested songs of all time, ‘Hallelujah.’ And he’s bringing in a special guest for a virtual duet. Lucia Micarelli is a talented violinist with an incredible voice.

Together, these two artists are the perfect duo for this iconic song.

On the performance, Josh said, “This song is dedicated to the brave frontline workers around the country but especially those in the epicenter at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Irving Medical Center and around NYC.”

As you listen to these words, it’s so important to remember all of the brave men and women who are working to stop the spread of COVID-19.
