Little Drummer Boy' Alex Boye Featuring Genesis Choir
In this uplifting and entertaining video, Alex Boye sings ‘Little Drummer Boy’ with the help of the talented Genesis Choir.
Alex Boye was born in London, England but moved to Salt Lake City, UT almost 20 years ago. He has a Nigerian heritage, so he likes to add an African twist to the songs he performs. Doors really started opening up for his music career after his audition on America’s Got Talent a few years ago. Now you can find his music videos online that are sure to uplift and inspire!
This music video for ‘Little Drummer Boy’ starts off with a mother and her two daughter walking groceries up to their house. When they get to the front door, they are greeted with the unpleasant sight of an eviction notice. The distraught mother is in so much shock that she drops her pack of water bottles to the ground.
The mother is then handed keys to an RV, which is where her family is forced to live and spend the holidays now. But while they are sitting in the RV, there is a knock at the door. The woman opens the door to see Alex Boye and the Genesis Choir outside with drums and wearing traditional African clothing.
The group starts singing an African tribal version of ‘Little Drummer Boy.’ There are also dancers moving around the scene, and they bring so much joy and energy to the video. As the group continues to make beautiful music, people start bringing Christmas décor and gifts to the family inside of the trailer. What a generous sight to see!
At the end of the video, Alex says an important statement. “This Christmas, instead of asking what you will get, ask what you will give. And of course, there’s no better example of that than the person who gave his whole life, Jesus Christ,” Alex says.
May we spend the rest of this holiday season thinking outside of ourselves and helping others who may be struggling. May we all show one another Christ’s love, the greatest gift of all.
